This fandom tag is very broad and we have decided we will not be accepting it for this round. Please re-nominate your tags under a different fandom tag such as "Marvel (Comics)", "Marvel 616", "Marvel Cinematic Universe", or any other smaller fandom tag and update your disambiguations accordingly.

The canonical tag for this fandom seems to be "Switched at Birth (TV)". Is there a reason this should be approved as "Switched at Birth" instead of the canonical tag?

Scenario - Disabled Character Doesn't Know They're Disabled - Is this tag about a character being in denial about their disability or a character discovering they are disabled (or something else)? Can the tag be reworded accordingly for clarity?

Scenario - Sapient Service Animal - Can the nominator explain what sapient means in this context and reword the tag accordingly for clarity?

Scenario - character doesn't have access to modern disability aids - Is this tag intended to apply to historical settings where a character doesn't have access to modern disability aids or for modern settings where a character doesn't have access to disability aids? If the tag is intended to only apply to one of these scenarios, could the tag be reworded for clarity?

Hi, and thanks again for running this; I'm really excited about it!

I nominated "Disability - Limb Loss/Amputation" and am comfortable with it being merged with "Disability - Amputation." As such, I've removed that nomination!

I'm also the nominator of the two The Doctor/The Master ships. Thank you for the clarification; I don't usually think of the different actors as different characters!

I think what I'm trying to express with that nomination is that there truly are hundreds of versions of that pairing, all of which are in-universe the same people and I'm genuinely not picky about any of them. (To the extent that I moderate a challenge to write for their rarest pairings!) Is it your preference that I nominate, say, the top dozen most-common versions of that pairing? Or is there a way I can workshop that nomination to build the ambiguity in ("Any Doctor/Any Master," "The Doctor (Any)/The Master (Any)," etc) that you're comfortable with, in the style of CCoF?

I'm happy either way; just let me know what's easier/more in the spirit of the exchange for you! And thank you very much again!

Hello, thank you for your clarifications! Per our nomination guidelines, we're not accepting tags that include "Any Character" as part of the tag or similar tags that could mean any character. Please nominate whichever specific versions of the Doctor and Master that you would like to offer/request.

Ahhhh, I see! I read that part of the nomination guidelines differently; my bad! Yes, thank you; I've re-nominated accordingly.

While I've got you, I'm also the nominator of "Disability - Star Trek Genetic Augmentation" that got rejected. Is the issue with that tag something I could solve with a thoughtful renomination (e.g. by making its framing less specific to one fandom) or is it dead in the water (e.g. because it's not a disability that exists in real life)? I understand either way; just wanted to see if it was worth workshopping or not!

Hello! We would suggest something along the lines of "Disability - Genetic Engineering with Unintended Disabling Side Effects" to explicitly state the unintended consequences are disabling. Let us know if this works for you or if you have a different suggestion you would prefer instead.

As a side note, "Side Effects" or "Unintended Consequences" etc. is quite broad and the tag can be interpreted in various ways so if you're looking for something more specific, we would suggest baking it directly into the tag (e.g. "Disability - Blindness as an Unintended Result of Genetic Engineering").
